Approximately one in seven people globally have disabilities

Approximately one in seven people globally have disabilities. Australia is committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities. Our support here in Ethiopia reaffirms our commitment to improving equality for people with disabilities in all areas of public life, including service provision, education, and employment. One of these programs supported by the Australian Embassy is the provision of a braille newspaper called Fetel. This project increases access to important information for blind people in Ethiopia and promotes their full participation in society.
